Mini Dental Implants in Nottingham

Adhesive every morning. A denture that rocks when you chew. Or the words “you don’t have enough bone” from another clinic.

Mini implants are narrower than standard ones. They need less bone, go in with less surgery, and hold a loose denture firmly in place.

From £1,500 per implant. Dr Azeem Mirza scans first and only recommends mini where it genuinely fits.

What Are Mini Dental Implants, and Are You Suitable?

A mini implant is a single narrow post with a ball on the end. Your denture carries a rubber O-ring that snaps onto that ball. It clicks in, holds all day, and lifts out when you want to clean it.

Standard implants use a wider post and a separate abutment. Mini implants are one piece, thinner, and need less bone.

Mini implants are likely right for you if:

  • Your upper or lower denture is loose and you are tired of adhesive
  • Another clinic said you lack the bone for standard implants
  • You want a smaller procedure with a faster recovery

They are not for every case. Molars take too much bite force for mini implants, and a single visible tooth is usually better on a standard implant. Your CT scan tells us honestly which fits. It costs nothing.

Why Choose WantTeeth for Mini Implants in Nottingham

  • We scan before we recommend. Your free 3D CT scan decides whether mini implants actually suit your bone — no guesswork, no pushing you toward the cheaper option.
  • We say no when it’s not right. Mini implants don’t suit molars or single visible teeth. We’ll tell you that honestly rather than sell you the wrong fix.
  • Placed by our Clinical Director. Dr Azeem Mirza handles your case start to finish — not passed to a trainee.
  • From £1,500 per implant, with your CT scan included and an exact price in writing before you decide.

How Mini Implants Work — Three Stages

Stage 1

Free consultation and CT scan

Dr Mirza scans your jaw in 3D to measure bone depth and width. The scan confirms whether mini implants suit you and how many you need. You leave with a written plan and an exact price. You pay nothing for this.

Stage 2

Placement

We place the mini implants under local anaesthetic. The technique is minimally invasive, so it usually needs no stitches and takes less time than standard implant surgery. IV sedation is available.

Stage 3

Your denture clips in

We fit the O-ring attachments inside your denture so it snaps onto the implants. In many cases this happens the same day. Your denture now holds firm instead of floating on your gum.

Mini Dental Implants Nottingham — FAQs

Most often, securing a loose upper or lower denture. The implants go into the jaw and the denture clips onto them, so it stops moving while you eat and speak. They can also replace small individual teeth, like narrow front teeth, where a standard implant will not fit the gap.

An upper denture usually needs four, a lower denture often just two. The upper jaw has softer bone and the forces on an upper denture differ, so it needs more support. Your CT scan confirms the exact number for your jaw.

Often, yes. Mini implants need less bone depth and width than standard implants, which is their main advantage. Patients turned down for standard implants are frequently suitable for mini. Only a CT scan confirms it.

A mini implant is one piece — a narrow post with a ball end and an O-ring. A standard implant is a wider post with a separate abutment. Mini implants are less invasive, heal faster and cost less, but have a shorter evidence record for long-term survival. For a single visible tooth, we prefer standard implants wherever the bone allows.

Not during placement. Local anaesthetic means pressure, not pain. Because the technique is minimally invasive and usually needs no stitches, most patients report only one to three days of mild discomfort.
